Try it Pottery Wheel Classes

Try your hand at pottery on the wheel at Kiln Creations in Noblesville.

Ever wondered what it's like to shape clay on a pottery wheel? This 90-minute introductory class at Kiln Creations gives you a chance to find out—no experience necessary. You'll receive hands-on instruction in the basics, from centering clay to forming the walls of your first pot. The class gives you three separate balls of clay, so you have multiple attempts to create something you're proud of. Just be prepared for a messy, playful experience: wear clothes and shoes that can handle clay, and remember that wonky pots are part of the fun and learning process. For $52, your experience includes instruction, studio tools, three rounds of clay, and the complete firing process. You'll make your piece during class, then return later to paint it after it's been bisque-fired. The studio handles all the kiln work and final glaze firing, so you leave with an actual finished piece of pottery you created yourself. Keep in mind pieces need up to 28 days to dry before firing, and occasionally the kiln process doesn't go as planned—but the studio includes a consolation prize just in case. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
