Try it Pottery Wheel Classes at Kiln Creations
Ever wondered what it's like to shape clay on a pottery wheel? This 90-minute introductory session at Kiln Creations is your chance to find out—no experience needed. You'll work with a semi-private instructor who'll guide you through the fundamentals: centering clay, pulling up the walls, and creating your first pot. You get three separate balls of clay, so you'll have multiple opportunities to succeed. The $52 class fee covers instruction, materials, studio tools, and the complete firing process.
Here's the best part: your experience doesn't end when class does. After your piece is fired, you'll return to the studio to paint and glaze it, then watch it get its final firing. You'll leave with an actual finished pottery piece you made yourself. Just keep in mind that clay is messy—wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty—and that drying and firing take time (up to 28 days). Pottery has surprises; pieces occasionally crack or don't survive the kiln, but the studio provides a consolation prize if that happens. This class is perfect for curious families and anyone wanting to try something completely different without a long-term commitment.
