The Italian Baroque
The Italian Baroque in Indianapolis
Your family can experience the grandeur of Italian Baroque music brought to life by conductor-violinist Dmitry Sinkovsky and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. The program opens with Handel's sparkling Agrippina Overture, then moves through elegant works by Corelli and the festive brilliance of Vivaldi. The concert concludes with Stravinsky's playful Pulcinella, featuring vocal soloists from the Indianapolis Symphony.
This is a wonderful introduction to classical music for families who enjoy theatrical, lively performances. The blend of famous Baroque composers with Stravinsky's modern take on classical themes creates an engaging experience for both newcomers and seasoned concert-goers. Tickets are available through the venue's website, and the performance takes place at the Hilbert Circle Theatre downtown.
