“Smammals!”

Learn about small mammals at McCloud Nature Park.

Join us at McCloud Nature Park for an evening exploring Indiana's small mammals! Led by instructor Hannah Mossbarger, this one-hour program introduces families to the creatures living in the park's prairie and woodland habitats. You'll learn how researchers set up transects to study wildlife and discover the best practices for safely handling small mammals. If we're lucky, we might encounter some of these animals in their natural environment. This program works well for families with children of any age who are curious about local wildlife. Wear clothes appropriate for the weather and come ready for a short walk through the park. The activity costs $3 per person, and advance registration is required. Space is limited to 15 participants, so sign up early. Plan to spend about an hour here.
