School of Music Music @ Butler: Butler Opera Theatre

Butler Opera Theatre is a student-run opera company that stages full productions featuring singers, orchestra, and elaborate staging. Families can expect traditional opera performances with professional-caliber production values created by university music students. Opera tells dramatic stories through music and singing—often classical tales, comedies, or historical narratives—performed in English or with projected translations. This is a wonderful introduction to live opera for families with older children or teens who enjoy music, theater, or storytelling.
