Persistent Destroyer
Matinee performance of the original historical play about a pivotal 1925 jury trial.
This original play brings an important moment of Indiana history to life by exploring the experiences of the twelve jurors who voted to convict D.C. Stephenson in 1925. Written by local playwright Ian Hauer and produced by Noblesville Creates, the performance takes place in the historic Hamilton County Courthouse on the anniversary of the sentencing. The production shines a light on a pivotal decision that shaped the course of American history. Doors open 30 minutes before the show begins.
Beyond the main performance, families have the option to add more to their visit. Reservations are required to join a 30-minute tour of the historic jail where Stephenson was held, or to participate in a community conversation about the play and its themes. Additionally, Noblesville Creates will display an exhibition of artwork created in response to this centennial event, along with other historical materials related to the story. It's a chance to engage with local history in multiple meaningful ways.
