Persistent Destroyer
Original historical play about the 1925 jury trial that changed Noblesville's course.
This original theatrical production tells the story of a pivotal moment in Indiana history—the 1925 trial of D.C. Stephenson. Written by local playwright Ian Hauer and produced by Noblesville Creates, the play centers on the twelve jurors whose unanimous guilty verdict marked a turning point for the state and the nation. The performance takes place in the historic courtroom where the actual sentencing occurred, adding authenticity and significance to the experience.
Beyond the play itself, families can deepen their engagement with this history through optional activities. Reservations are needed for a 30-minute tour of the historic jail where Stephenson was held, and attendees can also participate in a community conversation about the event's lasting impact. An exhibit of artwork inspired by this centennial and related historical materials will be on display, curated by Noblesville Creates. Doors open half an hour before the performance begins.
