Paws to Read
Read to a registered therapy pet—build confidence with a calm, furry friend listening.
Does your child feel nervous reading aloud in front of others? This program offers a supportive way for kids ages 5 to 11 to practice their reading skills without the usual pressure. Children bring a favorite book and read to a specially trained therapy animal, which helps them relax and enjoy the experience while building confidence in their abilities.
Sessions are kept small and intimate—each child gets a 15-minute slot with the therapy pet. The program is completely free, but spots fill up quickly, so pre-registration is necessary. When you arrive, check in at the Children's desk to claim your reserved time slot. It's a wonderful opportunity for young readers to develop their skills in a calm, encouraging environment.
