Making a Home: Seed Saving
Learn seed-saving techniques rooted in thousands of years of gardening.
Learn how to extend your garden's success into next year by saving seeds. This hands-on class teaches you practical techniques for harvesting and preserving seeds from vegetables and flowers—skills people have relied on for thousands of years. You'll discover how to identify when seeds are ready to collect, process different seed varieties, and set up a storage system that keeps them viable for seasons to come. Instructors will guide you through real examples using plants from Conner Prairie's own gardens, so you'll see the process in action.
Perfect for families with children ages 12 and up (younger participants need an adult present), this workshop gives you tangible skills to take home. You'll leave with seeds you've collected during the session plus written guides and resources to support your seed-saving journey at home. Tickets are $50 for members and $55 for nonmembers. The class takes place at the Curtis Home in Prairietown.
