Haunted Jail

Spooky Halloween experience inside the historic Hamilton County Sheriff's Residence and Jail.

The Hamilton County Historical Society transforms the historic 1876 Sheriff's Residence and Jail into a spooky Halloween experience. Over two October evenings, guests can explore the jail's cells decorated for the season and enjoy the atmospheric thrills of this unique local landmark. The haunted experience runs from 5 to 9 p.m. both nights, giving families a chance to experience a piece of county history with a festive Halloween twist. If nighttime scares aren't your family's style, there's a gentler option. Saturday morning offers a "Lights On" experience from 10 a.m. to noon, designed with younger children and guests with sensory sensitivities in mind. During these daytime hours, the decorations remain on display but in a friendlier, less-intense setting—perfect for families wanting to enjoy the historic building and Halloween spirit without the full fright factor. Both options let you explore this significant piece of Noblesville's past in whatever way works best for your group.
