Guided Nature Walks: Trails for Kids
Kid-friendly guided nature walks at Conner Prairie.
Your family can explore Conner Prairie's trails through guided walks designed to help kids connect with nature in meaningful ways. These one-hour outings combine outdoor exploration with play-based activities and nature prompts that engage children's curiosity. Groups travel between three-quarters and one mile depending on pace, following a mix of paved and crushed-gravel paths. The route includes benches for resting, and shaded sections provide relief from the sun. This program welcomes all ages and runs rain or shine, so bring sunscreen, hats, water, and other comfort items you might need.
The walk starts near the Museum Experience Center's tram turnaround, where you'll meet your guide. Paths are wide and accessible, with restrooms available at the starting point. After the guided portion, families can either continue exploring on their own or return with the guide. Best of all, this activity is included free with general admission to Conner Prairie. If you have specific access needs or questions about how the program can work for your family, reach out to the Nature Engagement Specialist at morton@connerprairie.org.
