Guided Nature Walks: Time with Trees

Learn tree science, history, and ecology through sensory exploration.

Join a one-hour guided exploration of the trees at Conner Prairie, where you'll learn about identification, history, and the science behind the plants around you. The walk emphasizes mindfulness and sensory connection—you'll have plenty of opportunities to really observe and appreciate the natural world. This is an easy-paced adventure covering less than a mile on mostly flat, paved and gravel trails with shade and benches along the way, so it works well for families with varying fitness levels and ages. The walk is free with general admission to Conner Prairie. You'll meet your guide near the tram turnaround behind the Museum Experience Center and follow a route that takes you along the Prairie Trail and Vista Trail before the option to return with your guide or continue exploring on your own. Since this runs rain or shine, pack sunscreen, water, and a hat. Restrooms with accessible facilities are available at the Museum Experience Center. If you have accessibility questions or need specific support, reach out to the Nature Engagement Specialist at morton@connerprairie.org.
