Guided Nature Walks: Texture Hunting

Your family is invited to discover Conner Prairie through touch and creative exploration. During this guided walk, you'll feel different textures throughout the property while engaging in art-making activities. It's a hands-on way to notice and appreciate how nature surrounds us in unexpected ways. The program welcomes visitors of all ages—whether you're bringing young children or rediscovering nature yourself. The walk follows a wide, crushed gravel path through Prairietown, with several benches positioned along the route for resting near key spots like the Lenape Indian Camp, Conner House, and Animal Encounters area. Since this program runs rain or shine, plan ahead with appropriate clothing, sunscreen, hats, and water. You'll meet your guide near the tram turnaround behind the Museum Experience Center, where restrooms (including accessible facilities) are also available.
