Guided Nature Walks: Historic Hoosiers
Walk through 1800s–1900s Hoosier history on a guided nature stroll at Conner Prairie.
Take a one-hour walk through the trails at Conner Prairie while learning about fascinating Hoosiers from the 1800s and 1900s who made their mark in nature, science, art, botany, archaeology, and beyond. Your guide will lead you on a gentle out-and-back route covering less than a mile, mixing paved paths with shaded crushed-gravel trails. It's a wonderful way to combine outdoor time with history, and families of all ages are welcome to join.
The walk is free with general admission to Conner Prairie. You'll start near the tram turnaround behind the Museum Experience Center and travel at a relaxed pace suited to your group. The route includes benches along the way, and restrooms are available at the Museum Experience Center. Since this program happens rain or shine, dress for the weather and bring sunscreen, hats, or water as needed. If you have specific access needs, you can reach out to the Nature Engagement Specialist to discuss how they can support your family's participation.
