Guided Nature Walks: Historic Hoosiers
Guided nature walk exploring 1800s–1900s Indiana history at Conner Prairie.
Join a guided walk through the grounds at Conner Prairie that weaves together local history and natural surroundings. Your guide will share stories about notable Hoosiers from the 1800s and 1900s who contributed to science, art, botany, archaeology, and other fields. This one-hour program covers about three-quarters to one mile, moving at a comfortable pace for the whole group. The route includes a short paved downhill section followed by flat, shaded trails—some paved and some crushed gravel—with benches placed along the way if you need to rest.
This walk welcomes families of all ages and works rain or shine, so come prepared with sunscreen, hats, water, and whatever else keeps your family comfortable outdoors. The cost is included with your general admission to Conner Prairie. Restrooms with accessible stalls are available at the Museum Experience Center, where you'll meet your guide. If your family needs specific accessibility support, reach out to the Nature Engagement Specialist at morton@connerprairie.org ahead of time to discuss options.
