Guided Nature Walks: Folklore

Explore local folklore and history on a guided nature walk at Conner Prairie.

Step outside with your family to discover the stories that shaped our region during this special October program at Conner Prairie. Your guide will lead you through local folklore and history as you explore the White River area on foot. This is a relaxed, one-hour walk covering less than a mile at a comfortable group pace, making it accessible for families with varying abilities. The walk begins near the Museum Experience Center and takes you down a gentle paved slope before joining the Prairie Trail—a flat, wide path with shaded sections and benches along the way. The program runs rain or shine, so dress for the weather and bring water, sunscreen, or a hat as needed. This experience is included free with general admission to Conner Prairie. Families of all ages are welcome to join. If you have accessibility questions or need support, reach out to the Nature Engagement Specialist at morton@connerprairie.org before your visit. Restrooms with accessible stalls are available in the Museum Experience Center.
