Get Ready 4 Kindergarten

Is your child turning five soon? This library program eases the transition from preschool to kindergarten by building confidence and important skills in a comfortable, welcoming setting. The program is designed for children ages 4–5 and gives them a preview of what school looks like, all while having fun at the library. Each session pairs a read-aloud story with a hands-on craft activity that brings the tale to life and reinforces key developmental milestones. During the 45-minute program, children practice practical skills like scissor control, glue application, and holding crayons properly while creating their own projects. Stories also explore bigger concepts like celebrating what makes us unique, community care, and leadership. Children are welcome to attend independently while adults wait in the library. The program runs twice monthly on the second and fourth Thursdays, so you can choose whichever session works best for your family. Registration is required and opens a couple weeks before each class; it's completely free to attend.
