Deaf Heritage Day

Deaf Heritage Day at Conner Prairie offers families a meaningful opportunity to learn about Deaf culture, history, and American Sign Language. The event celebrates the contributions of notable members of the Deaf community who have made significant marks on American history through the "Amplifying Voices" program. You'll also discover the rich history of the Indiana School of the Deaf and gain insight into the lived experiences of the Deaf community. To ensure all guests can participate fully, American Sign Language interpreters from BeHeard Communications will be present throughout the grounds, making the experience accessible for Deaf and Hard of Hearing visitors. Best of all, this educational program is included with your general admission to Conner Prairie, so there's no extra cost to attend. It's a wonderful way to expand your family's understanding of an important part of our community's heritage.
