Curious by Nature: Simple Machines in Action
Learn how simple machines work while ziplining through the air at Conner Prairie.
This is a homeschool program called Curious by Nature where kids get hands-on experience learning about simple machines through outdoor activities. The main event involves ziplining and navigating a low ropes course through the woods at Conner Prairie. Children will test their balance and problem-solving skills while understanding how these machines actually work. The program is designed for ages 6 and up, and ziplining participants must be between 3.5 and 6.5 feet tall and under 250 pounds. A waiver is required before anyone can zipline.
The program runs on Monday mornings when the prairie is closed to regular visitors, giving your group more space to explore the 1,000+ acres. Tickets are $10 per child with one free adult; additional adults are $8. The experience involves significant walking and outdoor activity, so dress appropriately for the weather. If your child has accessibility needs, contact Guest Relations at 317-776-6000 to discuss accommodations. Note that younger siblings shouldn't attend for safety reasons.
