Clay Class: Wheel Thrown Bowl and Handbuilt Plate

Clay Class: Wheel Thrown Bowl and Handbuilt Plate

Learn two pottery techniques in one evening—wheel-thrown bowls and hand-built plates.

Get ready for a fun, messy evening of hands-on pottery! This two-hour class introduces you to two different clay techniques. You'll spend the first hour building a one-of-a-kind plate by hand, then move to the pottery wheel for an hour of learning how to throw a basic bowl. The session is designed for complete beginners and anyone curious about trying pottery for the first time, so don't worry if you've never worked with clay before. Everything you need is provided—all materials, tools, and instruction are included in the $65 per person fee. Just know that pottery takes time: your finished pieces will cure and fire over 28 days, then you'll paint and glaze them during the final firing step. Be prepared for the possibility that a piece might crack or break during the process; that's all part of the learning adventure, and the studio offers small consolation prizes for those mishaps. Space is limited, so registering early is important to guarantee your spot.
